Question

Can someone please help me proofread my homework. I feel like some of my sentences sound I little awkward. Thank you in advance for your help and please excuse my poor English.

"I love children. I can change diapers and wipe snotty noses. When I’m around children, I certainly do have an instinctive desire to keep them safe and happy. I love their unique worldview, their sense of living in the present, their innocent interpretation of the universe. I love how easily they laugh (or cry) and then at the next moment, they can be fully engrossed in something new. I love the way they absorb learning like sponges and how they fight sleep just to enjoy one more moment of the day! And yet, I don’t want children of my own.

Here are 4 reasons why:

1)I don’t want to have kids because I’m scared I will lose the ability to meet some of my dreams and goals, such as buying my parents a big beautiful house, helping people in need and traveling around the world. Traveling with young children, in particular, seems to be really difficult and more importantly, expensive. Which brings me to my next point, kids are expensive.

2)Having children is very expensive. Estimates from last year put the figure of raising a child from 0 to 18 at about $245, 340. That's a lot of money, and I wouldn't want my children to suffer because I do not have enough money to meet their basic needs.
