Explanation / Answer
I have chosen a conflict situation where team members are not doing their work appropriately, causing organization to suffer.
2(1) Therapeutic or Empathetic Listening will be more appropriate in the present context. I will first understand the feelings and emotions of the team members and then resolve the conflict
2(2) The situation is like that of a intergroup conflict. Intergroup conflicts arise from objective differences of interest, coupled with antagonistic or controlling attitudes or behaviours.. Such conflict resolution proceeds in three phases: analysis, confrontation, resolution. Conflict analysis should identify underlying issues, needs, fears, values, and goals of the parties, through a process that allows mutual clarification and trust-building between the parties.
2(3) When we see the organizational interests are affected by such conflicts, we can intervene and try to resolve the issue.
2(4) Resolving a conflict itself involves active communication among the parties. In fact With out communication we can never think about resolving intergroup conflicts. Hence we can avoid communication problems by engaging the parties to conflict in a healthy communication environment.
2(5) Collaboration aims to find a solution to the conflict through cooperating with other parties involved. Hence, communication is an important part of this strategy. In this mechanism, effort is exerted in digging into the issue to identify the needs of the individuals concerned without removing their respective interests from the picture. Collaborating individuals aim to come up with a successful resolution creatively, without compromising their own satisfactions.
