Provide your assessment of the ability of the critical tools given in the Module 2 Lecture (Diagnosis, Prognosis, Prescription, and Proscription) to assist in isolating and analyzing an ethical Issue.

Some have suggested that using deontological ethics and law inside national boundaries and consequentialist ethics in regard to cultures other than one’s own is the answer to ethical pluralism. Do you agree? Why or why not?

Explanation / Answer

Ethical pluralism can be tough to circumvent with especially a diverse set of personal moral norms.

But having de ontological ethics as laws inside national boundaries is to presume that the rules which bind the people to their respective duties, are in corroboration with the personal norms and that theymir won't be any issues arising from that Norm, although, if we are to looks at Hobbes argument, anarchy can be defeated through having a set of rules to guide behavior and keep integrity amongst the people of a nation.

Although, have consequentialist argument in a cultural context is a perfect recipe for disaster, and consequentialists do belive that the means justify the end as long as the outcome of the action is for the greater good. Cultures are usually driven by herd mentality and do not give rational thought to many vital aspects before acting on them.
