Explanation / Answer
1.Shirley Jackskson's story The Lottery revolves around a fictional small town where Pepe celebrate an annual function called the lottery where there is a tradition to kill someone by stoning. So this is the most intriguing part of the story According to me.
2.The quote"Although the villagers had forgotten the rituals and lost the original black box, they still remembered to use stones"is the most significant quote and stood out to me the most. This quotation which appears near the end of story distills the lottery down to its essence: murder. The villagers may talk of the traditions, rituals and the history-but the truth-as this quotation makes clear is that the traditional part of it has been long discarded.
