Critical success Factors
i. Finding balance between all stakeholders ( both inside and outside) - Development of Process oriented organization is outside-in approach, where customer needs are considered and then a balance is arrived to satisfy internal stakeholders as well. A successful BPM implementation takes into consideration the views of every stakeholder - customer, supplier, employees, management etc. Snaga had empowered its customer facing employees during its BPM implementation, so that management is able to hear the voice of customers
ii. Consistent business processs architechture with semantic vocabulary - A Single well defined hierachial inter-connected process mapping, over which BPMS is laid out , is critical to success of BPM implementation. Such a map provides a common language for the work to be done
iii. Proper communication - Successful BPM system takes into consideration all the stakeholders requirements and hence communication in imminent so that there is a common comprehensive understanding with shared commitment. There has to be adequate training and motivation sessions.
In Snaga BPM Implementation, the project champion had focussed on well-communicated and clearly defined objectives, purpose and plan of the project, which facilitated recognition of expected benefits of the project by the participants
iv. Leadership focus - A successsful BPM must have leadership commitment and top management support. There will be many radical changes affecting people and culture and they can be overcome only by top level support. He actively promoted the BPM projects and kept everyone informed about the progress in a timely manner
v. Governance mechanism- BPM deployment needs a process governance mechanism. process governance is different from corporate governance. The former monitors the performance of business processes and prioritizes changes as per a process architecture. without a proper governance framework, it will be difficult to have cross-process conversations and communications
