Explanation / Answer

People at workplace develop a strong bond when they work together for a long time. This makes it difficult to give a feedback or even to receive a feedback from the colleague. Receiving a feedback from the manager is different from the one receiving from the colleague. The manager will have the authority to say something about the performance. The comment can be both positive and negative. But the situation would be different when a colleague comments on the performance and things might turn sour when negative feedback is given. I have worked in 3 different companies and in all the three companies I have faced this challenge and I have seen how people at work change when they do not get to hear what they are expecting. The company asks team members to review each other and give feedback to make them aware of what others think about their style of working. But the employees do not think in that way and things will turn personal very soon. I blame the mentality of the people for this and this cannot be changed.

Based my experience, I would make the process integrated into their work. I will make people work together and ask them to discuss the wear areas with the person directly over a coffee or during the lunch break. The employees will take this in a good way and will also consider making the required changes. The other way would be to get the feedback from everyone and tell a person the required changes as a collective feedback so that he cannot point out one specific person to blame. These two ways will make the feedback process easier and help the team retain their strong bond and also allow them to work together.
