Forum 1: Nature vs Nurture
This assignment centers on analyzing and discussing the differences between theorists who focused on either "nature" or "nurture" in their research and comparing and contrasting their theories in terms of their strengths and weaknesses.
There are several theorists mentioned in Chapter 1 of your text. Choose one (1) 'nature' based theorist and one (1) 'nurture' based theorist and compare and contrast their theories. Which theorist had the "better" explanation, in your opinion? Why?

Nature theorist assumes that behavior is determined by biological and genetic factors while nurturist theorist suggest that behavior is driven by environmental factors.
Chomsky theory of language acquisition suggest that There is an innate device or capability in every individual to learn and produce different languages. He claims that environment has no role to play.
Bandura is of the view that observation that is environment provides for learning and genetics or biological aspects has little role to play.
Both the theorist have Thier advantages and disadvantages. Chomsky has shown that if child is provided with stimulation before critical period , he can learn any language . He shows people in different environment and different stimulation generaly have sane kevel of proficiencies that orivesphis point. While exoerimentselike Bo-Bo doll clearly suport that environment is the biggest influencer.
In my opinion none of the theorist are perfect. Rather there is fine balance of both nature and nurture in determining behavior. Moreover , there is integration of sone of the factors whereby nature influence nurture and vice versa.
