Explanation / Answer

Superior Nasal Conchae

It is a thin curved plate bounded to superior meatus of the nose

Middle Nasal Conchae

These project downwards at opening of maxillary and anterior and middle ethamoid sinuses.

Nasal concha comparises most mucosal tissue of nose and helpful in filtering , inhalation and humidification of the air.

22. Mandibular foramen

1.Cribriform plates wih foramina It is present on either side of the crista galli and it supports the olfactory bulb and have foramina for passage of olfactory nerves. 2. Superior and middle conchae

3. Prepandicular plate it is a thin flattened lamina desending from the under surface of cribriform plate. These form septum of the nose. 4.Ethmoidal sinuses these lies in upper part of nasal cavities and there function is to provide lubrication to the nose. 5. Temporal bones Present at lower side of the skull and function is to provide attachment of Temporalis muscle and foramens allow passage of veins arteries and nerves. 6.Petrous portion it is portion of temporal bone and function is to protect Inner ear from damage. 7.Internal auditory meatus it is a canal in petrous part of temporal bone and allow passage of vestibulocochlear nerve, facial nerve and labyrinthine artery. 8. Mandibular Fossa it is a curved pit in temporal bone and perform importantly in process of mastication. 9.Zygomatic process of temporal bone it is a arched process projecting from lower part of squamous part of temporal bone and articulate with zygomatic bone. 10. Styloid process it is a slender pointing piece of bone just below the ear and is anchoring point for several muscles. 11. Parietal bones these are present in top and sides of cranium and forms posterior roof of the skull. 12. Inferior nasal concha these extend horizontally along the lateral wall of nasal cavity and are responsible for controlling airflow through nasal cavity. 13.Lacrimal bones it is present in frontal part of medial wall of orbit and form nasolacrimal canal. 14. Lacrimal fossa it is a smooth depression in lacrimal bone in which lacrimal sac is situated. 15. Maxilla maxilla forms the upper jaw by fusing two bones. Support upper lip and teeth. 16. Mandible mandible forms the lower jaw and is lower part of skull. 17. Condylar process it is process of mandible and ends into condyle. Helps in formation of temporomandibular joint. 18. Coronoid process it is process of mandible and is a insertion point of muscle which closes the jaw. 19. Ramus there are two mandibular rami projecting prepandicularly to upward from angle of mandible. 20. Mandibular angles located at the posterior border at junction of lower border of ramus of mandible it is also called forensic tool for gender determination. 21, Mental foramen Located at anterior surface of mandible and transmit mantle artery.

22. Mandibular foramen

It is opening of internal surface of the ramus of mandible and divides mandibular nerve and blood vessel. 23. Zygomatic bone it is paired bone in human skull(cheek bone) 24. Zygomatic arch it is formed by temporal process of zygomatic bone and zygomatic process of temporal bone.
