Currently, all 50 states in the USA have some degree of mandatory immunization requirement for school children. However, some exemptions are permitted for religious or personal objections to vaccinations.
The National Vaccine Information Center believes that mandatory vaccinations may be the first step toward the government becoming "Big Brother." How do you feel about mandating vaccination? Do you agree or disagree? Why yes or why not? Provide some personal life experiences relating to this subject
Explanation / Answer
•Mandating vaccination is neccessary,as it minimises the risk of infections.
•If exemption is given on vaccination with ease, then there are high chances of disease outbreak,to the level of epidemic.
•Creating Herd immunity with mandatory vaccination can help in decreasing probablity of infection in a population, and with time it can even eliminate the disease/infection.
•Lets consider an example,Pulse Polio programme was introduced worldwide for eradication by WHO in 1988 and in 1995 in India.
•With this mandatory vaccination the chain of Polio infection,a crippling disease was broken and India was declared "Polio-free" on 24th Feb.2012.
