Ryan, an employee in the medical department, regularly tells off-color jokes, is rude to coworkers, nicknames them derogatory names behind their backs and uses sexual and racial slurs. He has made some of these comments in front of his supervisor, Jason.
His coworkers are upset by the conduct but feel that since Jason hasn’t done anything about it, they just have to put up with it. Zane is a new employee and approaches Jason to complain. Jason tells Zane that Ryan is a great worker and “doesn’t mean anything” by the comments. “That’s just Ryan.”

1. The type of discrimination and harassment that took place were sexual harassment and racism. Female workers are most affected by this act of sexual harassment.These victims of sexual harassment usually find it un easy to present their problems to the relevant authorities and due to this, a good number of the victims have been able to be affected negatively making some of them to go as far as interfering with their careers and goals in life.
Racial slurs are also practiced by Ryan which lead to negativity in work places. Many Individuals who are qualified for different job positions have always ended up being denied job opportunities as a result of racism.The key indicators that this behavior was among one of the major violation of the workplace is clearly indicated in the rules of the organization which majorly focuses on the sexual harassment taking place within the workplace and clearly goes further to state that any person who might have experienced any form of sexual harassment within the work palace should report this to the human resource manager for further help so as to avoid the occurrence of the scenario.
2. The claims of sexual harassment and racism can be investigated more efficiently by engaging those who were involved in the act on a one on one conversation so that you can come up with proper information regarding what took palace. In addition, a proper investigation can be carried out by engaging the experts who are aware of the occurrence of these issues.
3. The employment laws which were violated in this scenario is the law which talks about sexual harassment within the workplace and clearly states that no person should be found guilty of taking part in any form of sexual harassment to any given individual within the work palace.
The second law which was violated is the one which states that each and every individual is entitled towards applying for any job vacancy within the entire workplace and any person who will be found taking part on non ethical issues such as racism and will be charged according to the law .
