Question

Discuss: how privacy has been protected over time and what is the future of privacy protection.

Is privacy on the Internet an EXPECTATION, a RIGHT, or NON-EXISTANT?   What specific procedures, laws, or regulations are in place has your organization put in place to maintain privacy of medical records and how has this changed over time for you and your particular job? Many people are always concerned about the security of electronic records and are fearful of hackers (random rogue hackers, paid hackers, or organized hacker gangs from the U.S. and other countries). Should any particular electronic records have a different security protocol than other kinds of records (e.g., retail purchases, health records, tax returns, school transcripts, social security payments)? Who decides what information needs to be "more secure"?

Explanation / Answer

Privacy has been protected over the time in the following way:

1.Users have unique username and passwords in order to access their email so that only authenticated users can access their aaccount keeping the privacy.

2. Passwords are extremely encrypted in order to ensure data secrecy and confidentiality.

3.Data backups are created so that if information is lost we can still access the information from another place.

4.Perofming datab abstraction and hiding so that only the users meant to access the information access it and no others can come near to it.

The future of ensuring pricacy depends on:

1.Intrusion detection systems:They check for intrusions or any malicious hacker trying to access a network which it shouldnt be and immediately removing him automatically from the network if detected.

2.Complete packet inspection of data flowing into and going out of the network. This helps to ensure data is coming from a person meant to be and being sent to the same without any external access between the two parties.

Privacy on internet is a right as it is extremely important for every person to have his information secured and confidential to himself. It is extremely important for a person as no one wants their card details or booking flights details to be accessed by another person and is misused.

In order to secure medical records:

1.Doctors have unique usernames and password to access their database. They have the patient information with them and patients with their unique username and login can access their treatment details. This conversation is between a doctor and a patent and no one else can see .The database is protected with encrypted passwords and intrusion detection systems to monior any unauthorised access.

2. This ensures secrecy and privacy of the data and information and only the patient knows from the docto no one else.

ALL the information must be secured whether its credit card details or a person's name. since all of them are inter-related within a database. If a user accesses one of them he might get onto the others using that .The most important part is to secure the network on the whole and then secure the databse by installing anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares.Moreovers intrusion detection and packet inspection should be done regularly and users should have strong usernames and passwords using alphabets ,digitss, numbers, special characters so that it is unable for an outsider to guess it.

The person who decides the information to be more secured is the user himself or the organisation that wants to secure the work done by its employees..If a person feels he is being targetted and his private details are being taken by others he should ensure more privacy and make sure to not let others access his network. The organisation should make sure every employee's work is confidential and is known only to the team leaders and members. They should develop more strategies if there is a breach of data security.
