The employees ex-spouse begins to call the office repeatedly and threatens your employee to inflict harm. Employee has a restraining order on ex-spouse.

Answer : Case -1

I. Violence by Outside Persons e.g. (Employee and the client was sitting in the office and discussing their matter. Suddenly an outside person arrived there. The person entered in the office without seeking any permission and started abuse behavior with the client. The person was using abusive language with the client and the behavior of the person with client is not appropriate. The outsider person and the client are having a non-stop discussion for some issue. The employee was not able to understand what is happening then. But the way the abusive discussion between the client and the person was not acceptable to the employee and to the other people. The outsider person had violence with the client. No person can behave like the outsider person in somebody’s office. There are manners and etiquettes of behavior at public places or offices.)

A. Policy Statement

1.     At the organization or office place, people need to behave in adequate manner with the employees or their clients/customer. Any person either outsider, customer/client or employee must follow the rules or regulation of an office/organization and their way of behavior should be gentle. People are requested to behave in appropriate manner and etiquettes.

2.     Upon any issue / problem, the person or customer/client or employee needs to speak to the concern authority at the organization or office premises. The authorities are available to resolve any organizational / official matter if any. Any non-organization or Non-official matter should not be discussed inside the organization or office. The legal action will be taken against the person, if found with liability.

B. Summary of Training (describe)

1.     Based on the above incidence, the training being planned for the security team and the employees for stopping such type of behaviors in the organization or in the official premises.

2.     Special employee act plan made for managing such issues in future if necessary. The training given to all employees for what to do in such sudden incidents being happens in future. As per this flow – employee can approach for an emergency contact number, which will call the security in-charge and he will resolve the matter. In case, the matter still not resolved, then security in-charge will approach to police for help and resolution.

C. Responsibilities of Managers and Employees

·       Manager Responsibility – Manager needs to develop a system and processes for avoiding such issue in the premises. The manager needs to take input from all the key concern team members and need to develop and implement the robust system which will ensure the re-occurrence of such issues. Manager will develop the training plan for all employees. The manager will organize for training for all employees for the developed system and processes.

·       Employee Responsibility – The employee’s responsibilities is to follow the new system and processes as per the training program. They need to ensure the compliance of the system and ensures the re-occurrence of such issues in future.

Answer : Case -2

Violence by ex-spouse of an employee e.g. (Ex -spouse of an employee calls him/her repeatedly and threaten the employee. The employee had already left this ex-spouse earlier. Now the employee does not have any interaction with him. But the ex-spouse does not understand this and unnecessary make calls at the organization or office and calls the employee and threats him. The employee already has the restraining order against the ex-spouse. The employee looks to be in tension and not feeling well due to this scenario. Thus a violence is being created by the ex-spouse at the organization for the employees and also for the organization.)

The employee can ask to avoid such calls by asking for black listing of particular names or numbers. The training is given to the employees for managing such issues. In case of repeat issues, the employee can reach to security in-charge and he will help to resolve the issue, if requires he can approach to police for help and resolution.
