my college is using oracle peoplesoft, I answered first question,
briefly, Search class, add class i want to take, enroll, and pay tuition. <-This is the whole step
but I have no idea on second question.

Explanation / Answer
Every University has a different student registration process to enroll students for a particular course. Also the technologies used in the process are also different. Like your college is using oracle peoplesoft. Similarly, any other college might be using some other software.
Anyways, I will explain you the second step according to my college with the registration process.
1) For enrolling myself for a particular course, I first need to search that course in the couse list. For enrolling for a particular course, we need to specify the course code (For ex: 003 for Mathematics). So I would require a course list. I can be a list which is written on paper or it can also be present inside a software like the college website. Luckily, its present on my college website. So, I will browse through the list and qucikly get the couse code. So the technology used here is the internet and a personal computer.
2) After getting the course code I would like to check whether there is an availability of seats in that particluar course and also the criteria for getting registered for that particular class. So I need to visit the college administration office and need to interact with the admission in charge. He/She would check the seat availability and the criteria from the college ERP system used by them. After checking the system for the availability in the class, you can procede with the registration process.
3) If you falls under the criteria and there is seat availability , then you can register for the class and do the remaining formalities but if not you can check other classes.
4) If everything is good, you can prodece to fill the form for your derired class. You need to fill all the necessary information needed. This can be done either on paper or online through a software provided by the college. Thankfully, my college has a software I don't have to fillvall that on paper. My college provides a simple form for filling all the details. Its provided on the website. The website is also connected to my Collge ERP for storing all the data filled by the student and managing it.
5) After filling the form, you can procede with paying the tuition fee for that particular class.
6) You can pay the fee as cash or through online payment. I would have paid online for hastlefree payments. For online payment I would require a payment gateway provided by the college, or by providing the hardware called EDC machine by swiping the debit/credit cards and paying the fee.
7) After paying the fee, you would get registered as a student of that particular class. This would be done manually by the authorized person to whom you would pay the fee. He/She would enter your name manually in the ERP system.
8) After that you would get a payment fee receipt either printed on a paper or would be sent to you through an email.
9) You will have to show that fee receipt on the first day of you new semister.
10) So, this is how you get registed for your new semister class.
