The IS Department is the smallest department, consisting of four very overworked employees. 1. I would suggest windows server 2012 data center edition. Because it supports the main memory upto 4 tb and also this edition supports unlimited number of virtual machines. As the marketing department uses many databases which need to run faster for the queries. So this can ve achieved by this edition only. Some databases nees to be maintain in virtual machine as this edition supports many virtual machines and also runs faster than all other editions.
2. For the internet purpose both windows server 2012 data center and enterprise editions. Because this both will support unlimited connections and unlimited groups. Based on both database requirements and internet for the marketing department windows server 2012 data center edition is best suitable.
3. Window server 2012 data center and enterprise editions both will provide security. Because for the data center edition most data will be stored so inorder to maintain data this edition is having many security features. If we take enterprise edition into account it also having same features as data center edition but the only difference is supported virtual machines other than that security and all other features are same.
