Pros of using commercially available software:
1. Less bug, since the software is used throughout the globe, software engineers around the world are aware of almost all the bugs.
2. A commercially available software have better support, since it is used by thousands.
3. Since a dedicated team develops the software, Getting bug fixes, updates, and security updates are quite smooth. This increases the stability and reliability of any software.
Cons of using commercially available software:
1. These softwares comes with a whole lot of features, and we might not use them at all. Software without these features could have worked well with more efficiency.
2. If a serious bug or loophole is found in these softwares, the whole world will know it since thousands of other company also uses it. Knowing the loophole can cause security issues.
3. Need to pay a 3rd party for the services and support. This might reduce company's profit margin.
Considering technology and advancement of 2017 the cons does not matter much. If the Company develops its own M-commerce software, the company may face higher losses. Developing their own software would require a dedicated team, who are expert at developing such software. Once developed, the company cannot sell their produce (m-commerce software) to other companies to make profits, hence increasing the cost to a large extent. Things will get worse during the matainance cycle of the m-commerce software. So it is much better option to buy and use any other commercially available software.
