Explanation / Answer

1.What is an IPv6 Global unicast address and IP address routing prefix?

EXPLANATION:

An IPv6 unicast address is an identifier for a single interface, on a single node. Every packet that is transmitted to a unicast address is delivered to the interface recognised by that address.

“slash notation” :The size of the prefix, in bits, is written after the oblique. There is a whole of 32 bits in IPv4 address space. Example: network address “192.0.2.0/24”, here “24” denotes bits contained in the network.

2.What is an IPv6 Link-local unicast address and its IP address prefix?

EXPLANATION:

An IPv6 link-local unicast address is a unique address used for communication within a link or local network or the broadcast domain to which the given host is currently connected. It need not to be unique outside the single network segment. It’s ip address prefix is /48.

3. What is an IPv6 Unique-local unicast address and its IP address prefix?

EXPLANATION:

The ipv6 unique local addresses are defined as private IP addresses like IPv4 private addresses and used as a private IP addresses and they are not routable on internet, and it's IP address prefix is FC00/7.

4. What information is stored in an IPv6 Fixed Header?

EXPLANATION:

An IPv6 headers depicts one Fixed Header and may have zero or more Optional (Extension) Headers. All the compulsory information that is important for a router is kept in this Fixed Header.
