1. Major competitors for Apple are : Palm pre, Google Android, Blackberry and HTC. Apple's competitive advantage lies in product offering, customer service, and cost structure.
2. Apple have been able to gain successful customer satisfaction and differentiate themselves from their competitors by charging a premium price.
3. At Apple, they connect humanness to technology. For example, their ipods do not have on-off buttons, they are designed for human fingers and hands.
4. Apple products are simple, one can easily figure out how to use them without instructions. Steve Jobs, believes that humanities are as important as technology. They merge aesthetics with the innovations.
What must Competitors emulate to surpass Apple :
1. Product differentiation : Competitors need to differentiate their products by adding Unique Selling Point to their products. It can be for their Mac book, Iphone, Ipad range instead of copying Apple's products. They need to reduce their prices to gain market share.
2. Growth Strategy and Core Competencies : Their devices should be made at high specifications, enabling customers and businesses to access their data efficiently and easily. They need to work on Re-structuring and re-designing the organization to gain competitive advantage over Apple.
