Question
Comments about this please, i need a paragraph..... Cultural competence and diversity are two terms that are often considered to have the same meaning in most health care facilities. Although they are extremely similar, there are distinctive differences between the two terms. Cultural competence is the ability for health care providers to effectively deliver health care services that meet the cultural, social and linguistic needs of a patient. This is essential in the health care atmosphere because it helps improve quality care and promote better health outcomes. Diversity on the other hand is the inevitable variety in customs, practices and attitudes that derive among groups of people from different ethnic, national or racial backgrounds. Understanding and acknowledging the diversity within health care facilities will allow us to understand how others interpret how we interact with them. Lack of cultural competency may lead to patient dissatisfaction, therefore, having a diverse group of providers and organizations working together will ensure patient satisfaction in quality of care. In order to meet the needs of patients from a culturally competent prospective the department must first learn about different cultures and be fully aware of cultural norms. The correct or polite way to say "hello" to one person may not be the same for another person depending on where the person is from. Also, if the department does not have a diverse group of employees working then they should definitely look into providing interpreter services. As shown in the video above, one lady was told to come back for another appointment in hopes that she would find another provider that spoke the same language as her. She never returned for another appointment, so not only did the hospital lose a patient but they are also liable if anything were to happen to her. Understanding and making patients feel comfortable is a major key in maintaining a successful health care facility.Explanation / Answer

Diversity arises due to the variation in demography and change of conditions due to time and economical shifts.
In a healthcare sector cultural competency refers to the behaviour and customer service level from the whole organisation to their clients ( patience). The clients sin healthcare can be from different background and they might be going through various difficult mind situations due to the their health issues. Thus culture must take the role of an ideal care taker who could understand the patience condition and cure them accordingly rather than thinking from business point of view. Competency refers to the healthy competition between various health care centres to get maximum clients through their satisfaction.
Diversity at the same time refers to the variation in the type of care to be given to the customers from various departments.
