The company you work for has just announced that it intends to sign on 20 new clients each month for the next six months. You are a manager in this company and need to communicate this change in a way so that employees will be aligned with the upcoming changes. Your employees include both men and women, ages 32 – 67 and include African-Americans, Caucasians and Native Americans. Therefore, your essay should address the above scenario and explain how you would use each strategy from five communicator strategies:
• Communicator Strategy - your communicator strategy needs to include general, action, and communication objectives.
• Audience Strategy - your audience strategy needs to reflect consideration of those who will be listening to your presentation.
• Message Strategy - correctly define your message strategy as “direct” or “indirect” and present your reasons for this choice.
• Channel Choice - correctly and thoroughly explain your channel choice.
• Culture Strategy - address all issues which may stem from the diversity present in your audience and explain how you will adjust your message to meet the needs of your audience.

Communicator strategy: As a manager I would use a communicator strategy that emphasizes on the objective. The objective here is to communicate the intention of signing around 20 new clients and the changes that will happen as a result of this intention. The employees will have to be aligned with the changes that the organization has planned to introduce. Thus the communicator strategy will be one which focuses on the specific communication goal in this issue. Another key inclusion in my communicator strategy would be to motivate the employees so that they will help the organization meet its new objective.
Audience strategy: The target audience is diverse in terms of age, gender, and caste. Thus the audience strategy should be such that the communication tone being used involves all appeals the entire audience. The audience will have different needs as they are in different stages of their careers (a 32 year old will be in a different stage than a 67 year old). Further, their cultural backgrounds are different and hence their expectations are also different. Thus I will first research on the target audience and on the basis of this information I will try and be as specific as possible so that all the specific goals of the audience is aligned with the goal of the organization.
Message strategy: I will use a direct message strategy. The important points will be highlighted in my communication and will not be delayed. This is because I do not anticipate any negative reaction from my audience. Secondly, use of minimal number of words will create the maximum impact.
Channel choice: I would prefer to communicate with the employees through a team meeting. I would prefer this channel as it will enable me to make the communication relevant. Team meeting will also give me an opportunity to get feedbacks from employees and discuss various issues with them to alleviate their concerns (if any).
Cultural strategy: As mentioned already, my audience is diverse. I will have to develop an awareness of the individual cultures and incorporate the nuances in my communication. This will help in developing mutual acceptance. Also, i would keep my communication simple and clear so that cultural nuances do not lead to any confusion.
