Please help with the below question. It has to be entered in a specific format in order to be accepted and I am having trouble figuring out how to write it:

Write an equation that represents the action in water of dihydrogen phosphate ion (H2PO4) as an Arrhenius acid. (Be sure to include the correct charges for ions.)

Explanation / Answer

According to Arrhenius theory, the species which prodces an H+ ion in its aqueos solution is called an acid.

So, H2PO4- can produce a H+ ion in aqueous solution.

H2PO4- ------------> H+ + HPO42-

(OR)

H2PO4- (aq) + H2O(l) ------------> H3O+(aq) + HPO42-(aq)
