Question
Please answer the following questions in the next 30 minutes and i will give you all the 1500 points.
1) The distance between two stations in a 10 Mbps LAN using CSM/CD multiple access method is 2,000 meters. Station A sends a long frame first and three micro seconds later, C starts sending a long frame. Notice that when C begins sending, the signal due to the frame from A has not reached station C yet. If it reached, station C would not send it. How many bits from station A have already been sent when it hears the signal from C? Assume propagation speed of the signal in the medium is 200 million meters per second.
Answer the following questions with reference to this network and explain your answers:
How many numbers of collision and broadcast domains does the network have?
When station A sends a packet to station C, whose Ethernet address does station A use for the destination address?
Suppose there is a two-way communication between stations A and B. Does station C get to see this traffic?

2)
(i)
a) A router is connected to 2 switches and each switch consists of 2 PCs.
- Broadcast domains = 2 , collision domains = 6
b) A router is connected to 1 switch and that switch is connected to another switch with 2 PCs on it.
- Broadcast domains = 1 , collision domains = 4
c) A router is connected to 1 switch and that switch is connected to a hub with 2 PCs on it.
- Broadcast domains = 1 , collision domains = 2
(ii)
When station A sending a packet to station C, it places the Ethernet address of station C as destination address.
(iii)
The station C cannot see the traffic between station A and station B because C does not belongs to either the network of A or network B.
