If the question includes a series of addition and multiplication,you need to round off the answer before the operation changes. Thatis, if you have done an addition and need to do a multiplication ordivision next, you need to round off to the correct number ofsignificant figures before moving forward. But during a series of only addition/ subtraction ormultiplication/ division, you can leave the rounding off till thelast step.
