The Renaissance which took place between 14 and 17 century, allowed a sense of invidualistic thinking opportunities for individuals. This paved way for new discoveries such as scientific thinking and reasoning by Francis Bacon, anatomy by Leonardo did Vinci, the concept of homology by Pierre Balon, textbook on anatomy by Andreus Vesalius, understanding of heart and circulatory system by William Harvey. These discoveries allowed huge evolution of understanding, leading to a lot more growth and development in these areas. This was something that couldn't have been achieved by mechanical working pattern prevalent then. Thus, individual intellectual thinking proved to be more productive than mass mechanical working pattern.
