Make a prediction on the rate of Diels-Alder reaction with the following dienes, and provide a simple explanation for your reasoning. a is the cyclic diene called as cyclopentadiene that are permanantly in the s-cis conformation are good for Diels Alder reaction.
In s-cis conformation, two ends of diene are close enough to react with alkene end and product will have trans double bond in the new formed structure. In this reaction the old sigma bond in the centre od diene becomes a pie bond .& conformation of sigma bond bocmes the confuguration of new pie bond.
