(Assume ?-2.00r 1 250 mL of some Pb(NO ) soution is mixed with 450 mL of 7.70 x 10-2M NaCI solution, what is the maximum 10-5 M at this temperature.) Enter the concentration in M the two solutions, then calculate the unknown concentration from the Kp equation rigure out the new concentration of CI ions, after adding Tries 1/99 Brevious Tnes This discusion is cosed MacBook Air 9 6 3

Explanation / Answer

PbCl2 <--------------> Pb 2+ + 2Cl-

Given, 450 mL of 7.70 x 10^-2 M NaCl

So, [Cl-] = 7.70 x 10^-2 M

Ksp = [Pb2+][Cl-]2

2.00 x 10^-5 = (x) ( 7.70 x 10^-2)^2

x = [Pb2+]= 0.337 M.

Total volume = 450 + 250 = 700 mL = 0.700 L
Moles Pb2+ = 0.337 M x 0.700 L = 0.236 mol

concentration Pb(NO3)2 = 0.236 mol / 0.250 L=0.944 M
