Question
I know I need some sort of equilibrium point for the three boys, but I don't understand what that would be. Please help!!
Justin, Andy and Jon are brothers and love fried chicken. In fact, it?s their favorite meal, and one of the few foods that the three boys can gives them all large amounts of happiness or, as a utilitarian would say, utility. In an effort to be fair, the boys? mother serves them each the same amount of fried chicken whenever they have this particular dish for dinner. Use this information and the graph below to answer the questions that follow. Suppose their mother is a utilitarian. How many pieces of chicken will she serve each boy? Assume that instead, their mother follows Rawl?s maximin principle. Now how many pieces of chicken will she serve each boy?Explanation / Answer
1) 8 pieces, because at 8 pieces total utility is maximum
total utility at 8 pieces = utility of justin + andy + jon = 100+900+800 = 1800
2)
