A quality product is one that is consistent and has very little variability in the characteristics. Controlling variability of agriculture products is much more difficult than for manufactured products. Below are the weights in ounces of 25 potatoes taken a random from potato bags. Using reasonable end points, construct a frequency and relative frequency table based on 5 class intervals. Based on the class intervals used in part (a), construct an ogive (note: remember ogive is based on relative frequencies, that is, percentages). Based on the ogive constructed in part (b), estimate the 25th and 75th percentiles. Show how you used the ogive to get your numbers. Construct by hand the empirical CDF plot. Show the table of numbers that were used to construct the empirical CDF plot. Using the data from problem 1, Find the sample mean and sample median. Using the book method and the method discussed at the end of the first lecture, find the 25th and 75th percentiles, that is, Q1 and Q3.
