Explanation / Answer

Extrinsic are factors that come from outside of the system while intrinsic factors come from within the system. For example say x impacts y then a change in x will directly impact y, and in this case we call the change in the system as an intrinsic change. While a change z which is not a part of the system, when has its repercussion effects on x, which then impacts out focus variable y is called an extrinsic change, which originates from outside of the system.
