Question
Please help and show all work possible so that I can follow thanks in advance!!!!
For the beam and the loading shown, a. draw the shear and bending-moment diagrams, and b. determine the maximum absolute values of the shear and bending moment. (the 60N-m couple moment acts at point C which is 0.8m from point A.) What I think I know... You should first determine all the reactive forces and couple moments acting on the beams Starting from left to right section the beam at a distace x and draw the FBD of the segments (making sure V and M are shown acting in their positive sense). Solve for V and M and draw diagrams? Please help and show all work possible so that I can follow thanks in advance!!!!Explanation / Answer
this may not be correct but makes sense for distributed loads
0 to 800
v=Ra+200x
m=Rax+200x(x/2)
800 to 1200
v=Ra+200*.8
m=Rax+200*.8(x-.4)-60
1200 to 1500
v=Ra+200*.8+120(x-1200)
m=Rax+200*.8(x-4)-60+120(x-1200)((x-1200)/2)
for the diagrams
plug in distances for x and plot on graph paper.
ex.for x=0 shear diagram will start at Ra
for x=0 moment diagram will start at zero.
basically plot the points with respect to their distance from the origin.
