Question

Incorrect Question 1 0/1 pts A resistor and a capacitor are connected in series across an ideal battery having a constant voltage across its terminals. At the moment contact is made with the battery, the voltage across the resistor is: equalt to the battery's terminal voltage less than the battery's terminal voltage. zero Incorrect Question 2 0/1 pts A resistor and a capacitor are connected in series across an ideal battery having a constant voltage across its terminals. At the moment contact is made with the battery, the voltage across the capacitor is: equal to the battery's terminal voltage zero. less than the battery's voltage, but greater than zero.

Explanation / Answer

As per Chegg guidelines, we are supposed to do one question with max 4 subpart. Hence I am doing accordingly.

(1) As the connection is made, maximum current will flow as the capacitor is getting charged hence all the potential of battery appears on the resistor.

Equal to the battery voltage

(2) As the initial charge on the capacitor is zero hence potential across it will be zero.

Zero

(8) When the switch is closed for long duration then capacitor get fully charged and no current will flow therefore bulb will not shine after a long duration.

The bulb no lone shines

(9) As the bulb is already charged, hence no charging will take place therefore there won't be any current hence bulb will not shines

None of these are correct
