Can someone explain to me how this works and why ?

Exercise 2: Temperature Transmitter Calibration Setup: 100.00 Fluke Flube 9100S-A 156 Dry Block Caleaoor Sappy Type-T Thermocouple ice Waer Type-TThemocouple and 1. Turn on the Fluke 9100S Dry Block Calibrator and increase the temperature setpoint to 2. Setup an ice bath 0.0°C reference. 3. Connect the thermocouple and transmitter as shown in the diagram Notice the metals of construction of the thermocouple connectors. 4. Zero and span the transmitter using the ice water and dry block calibrator 5. Once the transmitter is calibrated, insert the thermocouple into the dry block calibrator 100°C. and cool the transmitter with the Vortec Cold Air Gun. What do you observe? rom mA t 1.TA

Explanation / Answer

This experiment is based in the thermocouple effects( peltier effect, see back or Thomson effect.)

When we place one side of a specific kind of metal at a lower temperature and Other side to a higher temperature there will be a small current flow if we connect the circuit through it.

The amount of current depends on the temperature difference .
