1.Tom, Tina and Sam went on a boating trip. They consumed numerous beers and discussed Tom’s business. Tom told Sam that he would buy his truck for $ 20,000 if he would quit his current job and work for Tom’s business. Sam verbally agreed. Tom had numerous mechanical problems with his boat. Sam decided to surprise Tom and worked on the boat for six weeks without telling Tom. The boat was in excellent condition when Sam finished working on it. Sam then quit his current job and went to see Tom. Tom and Sam had an argument. As a result Tom refused to buy Sam’s truck, he refused to pay for the boat repair and he refused to hire Sam. Sam then filed a lawsuit against Tom. What will Tom argue? What will Sam argue? How will the court rule in this case? Provide legal justification for your decision.
