C=

b) What is the membership fee? $

c) What is the price per meal? $ per meal

d) Find the cost for a meal plan with 35 meals. $

e) Find n in terms of C .   n=

f) Finally, use your answer in part (e) to determine the maximum number of meals you can buy on a budget of $300. Maximum number of meals implies if you find that n = 3.9, then you can buy a maximum of 3 meals. You must truncate any decimal solutions (which is different from rounding).

n= meals

Explanation / Answer

20 meals cost $154 and 50 meals cost $244

So in order to find out the cost per meal we shall use the following calculation:

Change in cost/Change in meal

=244-154/50-20

=$ 3 per meal

Therefore membership fees=154-20*3

=$94

1)Meal plan C=3n+94

2) membership fee=$94

3) cost per meal=$3 per meal

4) plan for 35 meal=35*3+94

=$199

5)n=(C-94)/3

6)n=(300-94)/3

=68.66

=68 meals
