1. Cancer is a genetic disorder and it is caused by mutation in our own genes according to Dr. Charles Sawyers. The National Institute of cancer states that cancer is caused due to the mutations that occur in DNA when it is damaged by environmental exposures such as UV,tobacco and other radiations. Not only by genetic inheritance but also due to other factors any person can develop cancer.
2. Two individuals with cancer in the same area may not have same mutations because every individual has the process of replication where DNA polymerase adds nucleotides to synthezise a new strand so during this process some errors occurs where one nucleotide is paired with a wrong one. In such cases proof reading enzyme helps to fix the errors. But sometimes mutation may occur in this enzyme then the rate of mutation in that individual occurs extremely. So, in every individual the errrors occured cannot be same and hence the mutations cannot be the same, though they have cancer in the same area.
