In the development poltics sector, the effectiveness of deworming was long debated. Intest inal helminths, tapeworms, infect more than a quarter of the population worldwide. Deworming drugs are relatively inexpensive. Development practitioners long debated deworming programs but the benefits on health were not known. Therefore, a program in Kenya randomly treated students wit h deworming drugs and not others. The students health level was measured on a continuous scale. 1. 1) Hypothesis test:
Null hypothesis: Mean value of two groups is equal.
Alternate Hypothesis: Mean value is different(both are not equal)
2) Two sample t-test. Because two random sample is different, one is deworming drugs and another without drugs.
The experiment is between two sample group of students.
If the test statistic value within critical range or not significant, we can consider it as Failed to reject null hypothesis. So, we can conclude that both means are equal and can say no difference between deworming drugs and others.
If the test statistic value is significant(ex: <0.05 or <0.1 or <0.01...) or test statistic value not in critical range, then we can conclude by Rejecting null hypothesis. So, we can conclude that difference between means exist and can say deworming drugs benefitting health.
