In simple terms, Peter Principle means promotion of an employee on the basis of his/her performance in the current role rather than his capabilities of getting a promotion. This is a very common mistake companies make as they promote an employee to a manager because of his excellent performance. They fail to gauge his capabilities as a manager and which many a time lead to ineffectiveness. Success does not always means effective.

The three major types of organizational climate are:

Dehumanizing: Dehumanizing is a kind of climate in which the employees and workers a object and have less human interaction. Everything in this climate is about work. People come to work, do their job and go home the interaction between people and supervisor is very limited. There is no encouragement from the supervisor for the employees. This climate is often not very appreciated in the organizations.

Happiness for Lunch brunch: The organization invests and focuses a lot on making the environment more employees friendly. There are programs which are devised to keep employees in mind for the employees’ satisfaction. There is less focus on the communication between supervisor and employees. Hence in this kind of climate the employees have benefits but with limited interaction with the supervisor

Open: Open climate is the best climate a company can adopt. There are many companies across the world following an open culture. This is appreciated both by the employees and employers. This climate focuses on all the aspect of development. It encourages employees and there is good interaction between supervisor and the employees. The communication is encouraged at all the levels in the organization anyone can approach anyone in the same organization.

The concept of diversity is very vast. When we talk about diversity at workplace it can be any of the following things:

Yes, diverse people can share the same culture. A culture is values and beliefs a person has. These values can be shared by the people from diverse background. For example; Honesty is a value I believe in. There are numerous people out there with different citizenship and language and religion who share the same value of Honesty. With respect to an organization, an organization culture is built though shared assumptions and values believed by its employees.
