Explanation / Answer

Following are the answers to the above mentioned questions:

(i) My success journey has been full of ups and downs, where most of the times I have faced failure in life. Business has been a part of my life from the age of 16. I had starting selling "pakoras" to the college students and earning bear minimum amount. From that date the hard work continued, which helped me reach this position today.

(ii) I do believe in cut throat competition. In the present world lots of rivals are present and it is very important to use ones skills, knowledge and ideas to beat the competition present. Doing business at any cost is not a solution to success for the long run. If one will follow any means to gain profit or beat competition then the business will not be able to survive in the long run and might shut down quickly.

(iii) Stakeholders are the backbone of any business. They are the ones who are interested with the business and are involved in business affairs. It is the duty of business to respect them and work ethically with them. One should try to work ethically with stakeholders, be transparent with them, think for wealth maximization of stakeholders, provide them with fair returns and give due importance to their suggestions. Ethical behavior will stakeholders will help business grow and prosper in the long run.

(iv) As far as key achievements is concerned, I have been awarded as "Business Leader of the Year" in the year 2010 by NDTV India. In the same year I was awarded as "Businessman of the Year" by Financial Chronicle. Then I was ranked as "5th best performing global CEO" by Harvard business review in the year 2010. In the year 2013 I was awarded "Millennium Business Leader of the Decade" in the Indian leadership conclave.

(v) Motivation is the key to success and a motivated employee acts as an asset for the organization. It is very important to motivate the core team from time to time and make sure that the employees are working efficiently with the business. One of the best way to motivate the team is by reviewing their performance and rewarding them on the basis of their performance, understanding what makes them satisfied and whether they are motivated by monetary or non monetary rewards.

(vi) Promoting innovation in the business can be achieved by creating a participative environment in the organization. If the employees will be given a chance to participate in the areas affecting them, will be heard and suggestions listened, then the innovativeness of the employees will be enhanced and brought in light moreover sustainable business development can be achieved by maintaining a strong, ethical, complete organizational culture in the workplace.

(vii) Growth in actual terms can never be measured in terms of money. Money can be earned easily but actually measuring what has been achieved and gained can be measured in terms of number. It can be in terms of number of units sold on yearly basis, number of employees hired, number of satisfied employees etc.

(viii) To the young business leaders my message is that never ever let failure decide the path for your business rather as a businessman one should try to face every situation with ease. Being ethical in business, looking for the welfare of employees, working for the wealth maximization of stakeholders, making healthy work culture are the key to success and cutting out competition.
