flux of an electric field is the dot roduct of electric field vector and the area of the plane.
the rectangular plane lies in the x-z plane
so area vector points in the y direction.
so, the only component of electric field responsible for the flux will be y component
i.e, perpendicular to the plane
a.) only y component 0 N/C will provide flux. since y-component of electric field is 0 so, flux will be zero
b.) here j component of field =-250 NC-1m2
so,flux = 250 x 5.5 x 5.5 x 10^-4 = 0.7562 NC-1m2
