Consider the circuit shown in the figure . Suppose the fourresistors in this circuit have thevalues R1 = 12 , R2 = 6.5 , R3 = 7.1 ,and R4 = 10 , and that the emf of thebattery is = 15 V Find the current through each resistor using the rules forseries and parallel resistors. (I1, I2, I3, I4) Find the current through each resistor using Kirchhoff'srules. (I1, I2, I3, I4) I am having difficulty with both.. I always get 3.27 for I1which is definitely not right. I have tried following the solutionfor this problem that is given by the site and it isn't veryhelpful, it skips steps so I don't know where some of the answersare coming from. Can anyone please help?

Rs1 = R2 + R4    = 6.5 + 10    = 16.5 Rp1 = (R3 x Rs1)/(R3 + Rs1)        = 117.15/23.6    = 4.96 R total = Rs2 = Rp1 + R1                  = 4.96 + 12                     = 16.96 I = V/R total = 15/16.96 = 0.88 A First is series and parralel In Series I1 = 12 = 13 = ... = I In Parallel V1 = V2 = V3 = ... = V so, I1 (I trough R1) is same with I = 0.88 A. I2 and I4 (I trough R2 and R4) is          [R3/(Rs1 + Rs3)] xI           7.1/23.6 x0.88 = 0.26 A I3 (I trough R3) is    [Rs1/(Rs1 + Rs3)] x I           16.5/23.6 x0.88 = 0.62 A
