Question
Please i need help with these questions: 3. How long would the sides of capacitor plates need to be if you were to construct a 1F parallel plate capacitor using square plates that were separated by two millimeters? 4. Why do capacitors in parallel produce a larger capacitance than capacitors in series?I will give rate your answers.

Explanation / Answer
3)
we know that
capacitance C = e0*A/d = e0*a^2/d {here a is side of square}
so a = sqrt(C*d/e0) = sqrt(1*2*10^(-3)/(8.85*10^(-12))) = 15032.9 m
4)
let two capacitor C1 = 1uF & C2 = 1 uF
if they are in parallel, then equivalent capacitane
Ceq = C1 + C2 = 2 uF
if they are in Series, then equivalent capacitane
Ceq = C1*C2/(C1+C2) = 1*1/(1+1) = (1/2) uF
according to above calculation, parallel produce larger capacitance than capacitors in series.
