Explanation / Answer
Jane Elliot
With your experiment to divide class into blue eyed and brown eyed people and teach that there is no pure race,we are all shaped by nature and we are the one people and one civilization has a huge impact on me.The perception of nationality has been used to divide for eons and is simply people grouping together as they feel similar and comfortable.Discrimination is an illusion in the sense that people divide on the basis of fear.we are like a family and instead we were.Although your method was harsh but the lesson seems to have been learned well- racism, particularly when based on arbitrary things like the color of something, is silly. It feels very bad to be discriminated among others. There should be no racisim on the basis of colour or i can say there should be no racisism at whatever levels. The minorty people who are discriminated fells very bad and they start to feel that they have many other problems with which they have to deal with other than their personal problems. To eradicate racism, prejudice and discrimination we should treat all our friens equally not on the basis of culture and their skin colour. We should try to mingle with our co workers, eat together, work together and should have equal wages and equal human rights.
We should try to be un biased with our children in families by giving equal rights to both boys and girls and giving equal opportunities to them.
Thankyou for your life changing lesson.I hope you work very well in changing the thought of people.
