Pls help me (it's psyc life span birth to death) I have an answer/feedback for these questions, can u please give me an answer by looking at the answer feedback.

While grandparents may gain from parenting a second time around, grandparent caregivers often sacrifice much as they take on the responsibility of providing for their grandchildren. An elevated stress level may affect the health and well-being of an aging grandparent especially if the stress is long-term. The experience of parenting for grandparents may be influenced by a number of different factors such as, the culture of the particular family structure, ages of grandparents, marital status of grandparents, physical and mental health of grandparents or grandchildren, housing and general living costs, support structure available to the grandparents, and involvement of the grandchildren’s biological parents.

Question 1.

List some general concerns of grandparent caregivers that are discussed in this. Please add any other concerns that you think grandparent caregivers might experience when raising their grandchildren.

Explanation / Answer

One similarity among grandparents across the world is that they all would like to spend time with their grandchildren. Few social and economic factors have separated the grandchildren from the grandparents but in families where they live together, there is an opportunity. One of the most significant difference in grandparent parenting is that in individualistic cultures, they take it only as an added responsibility but in collective cultures, they want to raise grandchildren.

Most of the grandparents parent their grandchildren for various reasons such as the death of the parents, single parent who do not work or incapacitated etc. It becomes really tough for the grandparents as they would be already physically weak, some would be financially poor to provide because they won’t be able to work, some may not be able guide them and support them socially because their movement itself would be limited by that time. So, at this point of time, they would be looking for someone to take care of them as they would be nearing their second childhood stage with the same childish behaviours thus controlling the grandchildren would be a problem.
