Explanation / Answer

1. Physical area of development.

2. Childhood obesity.

3. Preschool to Middle childhood. Physical area of development.

(I have answered the first three questions as per the article chosen)

4. Childhood Obesity: A Global Public Health Crisis

5. Sameera Karnik and Amar Kanekar; 2011; 2011.

6. Yes, a study was done to explore this question.

7. A literature review was conducted which involves a detailed search of academic databases for the time period 1999-2011.

8. The researchers found that childhood obesity requires to be addressed at the population level by education, prevention and sustainable interventions proposed by government bodies, educational institutes and healthcare organisations. These interventions should involve healthy nutrition and physical activity.

9. The results were not all that surprising to me, as one would expect that interventions for childhood obesity should tackle dietary intake and regular exercise, which is what the findings of the study reveal as well.
