Kirkpatrick’s Critical Steps are widely used in most of all the Training programs that are been conducted in mordern organizations.
These steps are well structured and provides the trainers and organizers, systematic steps to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and outcome in form of tangible results (monitory benefit to the organizations)
- Now, let us understand 2 steps as asked for, out of 10 steps as asked for
1. Determining Subject content - Every training is conducted with a purpose to educate the participants about the new process, change in existing process or provide a subject matter knowledge, on which the participans do not have adequate knowledge.
To determine the subject content, need analysis is done among the participants. In the above case the participans needs to be educated on ICD-10. Thus need analysis to determine what all the participants knows about the subject. Also a satge of basic subject knowledge needs to made, which will help the participants to understant the terminology used in the ICD-10 better.
2. Selecting the Paticipants - The selection of participants depends on the type of training. In the current situation, the training is technical, on the perticular subject of ICD-10.
- The subject is technical, thus all the participants selected shoule be on the same page as far as basic knowledge learn ICD-10 is conserned.
- A team of cross functional people, from various departments should be selected. This team should contain high level team who will further lead the team for further implementation.
