Question
I know its either A or C. I know that Griffith did the studies with the tansfer of virulence, but he didn't know that it was DNA that caused it. He just called it "transformation" and said it was due to some unknown substance. Only later experiments by others determined that it was DNA. Morgan identified that genes were located on the chromosome, but he didn't know if it was DNA or proteins specifically that carried genes. Neither knew it was DNA specifically so I'm not sure which one is the right answer. Which one is the answer and why?
Which of the following scientists were NOT actively involved in efforts to study the role and structure
of DNA as the carrier of genetic material?
A. T.H.Morgan
B. Watson and Crick
C. Frederick Griffith
D. Hershey Chase
E. None of the above
Explanation / Answer
The answer is option E, because above mentioned scientists were involved in doing experiments that study the role and structure of DNA as the carrier of genetic information.
