Reactance of L = XL = j*omga*L

omega = 2*pi*f

f = Frequency

(a):

at very high frequency

XL = ver very very high value such that it tends to infinity

therefore upper branch of circuit behaves as open circuit, hence

I (rms) = V(rms) / R = 55/12 A

(b):

at very low frequency XL becomesvery very very small such that it tends to zero

and the Inductor in upper branch of the circuit behaves as a resistor with zero ohm resistance, hence

I(rms) = V(rms) / (R net) = 55 / (12||12) = 55/6 A
